New exhibitition!!

Viz Muniz, Marlène Dietrich - Diamond Diva


En bonne étudiante en Art je me devais d'aller à la nouvelle expo de la Baltic (tj centre d'art contemporain de Newcastle)... le fait que le café/bar juste en bas fait d'excelents gateaux spécial tea time n'est absolument pas entré en compte quand j'ai décidé d'y retourner avec Joella et Sally...!!... et en bon musée art contemporain, la Baltic expose des oeuvres plutôt "originales" comme une salle remplie d'écran plat diffusant des mini-films de la vie de tous les jours avec comme bande-son differents chants d'oiseau... ou des pyramides de vaisselle créant ainsi une sorte de mégalopôle!
Et puis il ya l'étage consacré aux oeuvres de VIK MUNIZ!!! Mon chouchou!!
C'est un artiste brésilien qui recrée des portraits d'icones de Marilyne à Mao en passants par Dracula, Elvis, Marlene Dietrich et des auto portraits créés à partir de de végétaux, chocolat, encre, sucre, caviar ou en diamant!!! C'est vraiment un travail minutieux impressionnant!! Ce gas-là y rajoute en plus de l'ironie!! bref je suis FAN!!
On est resté tellement de temps qu'à la sortie, le café/bar était fermé... pas de tea cake... (pour info il n'était que 5h... je n'ai toujours pas compris la notion de l'heure anglaise je crois...).

Like a perfect art student, I owed go to the new Baltic exhibition... The fact that the coffee / bar on the ground, makes of excelent tea cakes, didn't absolutely help me to decide to return to it with Joella and Sally. Like a good comtemporary art museum, the Baltic exposes works rather "eccentrics" as a room performed with flat screen diffusing daily life short movie with like soundtrack differents singings of bird or the pyramids of dishes which creating a kind of big cityhttp://www2.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif!
And then there are the floor dedicated to VIK MUNIZ works !!! My favorite!!
it's a brazilian artist, focuses on his series of portraits. The photographic images include works from art history and portraits of well-known people. His choice of materials to make his photographs reads like an extraordinary shopping list; chocolate, ink, peanut butter, sugar, soil, thread, glue, and more recently diamonds and caviar have all been used by Muniz. With a strong sense of irony and playful vitality he breathes new life into iconic images.
finally we stayed so much time inside when we went out the café/bar was closed... no tea cake... (it was just 5... i think i don't understand how works the english time...).
